Last week, the yearly Chianti Classico Collection event, the so-called Anteprima of the vintages that are launched during the current year, took place. This event is organized at Stazione Leopolda, which is an exhibition space for events and trade shows in the heart of Florence. During two days, you can taste the new vintages of the Annata, Riserva, and, lately, also Gran Selezione from the different Chianti Classico producers. To continue our small history session of the red grape varieties cultivated at Fattoria di Montemaggio, the turn has now come to the Pugnitello. This is a less known indigenous variety, which during the last 20 years has entered the winemaking scene in Tuscany again. On August 2nd Montemaggio was invited to participate and present their wines at the event #MalpensaStreetFood at Hotel Sheraton Malpensa's restaurant Il Canneto. The event is organized on a regular basis to spread the light on different regions of Italy. This time, they had chosen Tuscany as a theme.
